I installed the SHE 100 unit you sold me and wanted to let you know how impressed I am with its performance. I have been using it for 2 weeks and the power switch hasn't been on once! It hasn't been all sun lately either. The design is so simple yet ingenious in its use of the basic physics of thermal dynamics and refraction. Anyone installing flat panel systems over tubes needs to take a long hard look at their decision criteria.
The installation was relatively easy even on this steep pitch roof.

...does not need a pump & complicated controller
This is a quick note to say we are happy with our 100 litre hot water system which you installed on our Caretaker's cabin roof. The Caretaker reports that he has plenty of hot water and has only turned on the electric boost once or twice this year. We also like the fact that it works off the thermosyphon system and does not need a pump & complicated controller!

...extremely impressed in its ability to heat water on overcast days
It is now over 5 weeks since I installed the new solar system and would like to give you some feedback. I installed the system on the 7th February after Cyclone Yasi . I am extremely impressed in its ability to heat water on overcast days I have only had to turn on the backup heater on 2 days since even with all the rain, which is every day bar one so far since installation and in February we had over 1 metre of rain. I am very happy.

You explained all the differences between the numerous solar options and answered every question we asked, (even over the weekend when I contacted you a number of times, you always returned my calls). You organized the electrician (who was wonderful); you organized all the rebate forms and sent them off. You rang the night of installation (after I got home from work) to see if everything was right.
The day of installation which was still in the school holidays, one of your workers even took the time to fix my sons bike chain.

As well as saving money, we are doing our best to reduce our eco footprint and so a solar hot water heating system was at the top of our list.

...Obviously it was time to say goodbye to the old hot water system.
Thanks again for your generous work today. Not only is the stopcock now well positioned, but the piping is generally more 'snug'. It is a better fit in the cupboard which is an improvement -- so thanks for good service.
Something I forgot to mention is that the problem of a red stain in my shower has gone away. Obviously it was time to say goodbye to the old hot water system.

It gives me great pleasure to express in writing my complete satisfaction with the work done at my home by James McLaughlan of Solar Water Advisory Service.
James is clearly well informed technically and also committed personally to the widespread acceptance of environmentally sensitive and sustainable patterns of energy generation and use.
He gave us good advice on an appropriate system for our house and our family’s requirements, responsibly and conscientiously arrived at (instead of pressing upon us a bigger system than we actually needed).
This was installed with a minimum of delay (surprisingly quickly given weeks of wet weather!) without in any way inconveniencing my family: and James returned on at least two occasions in the week afterwards to check that everything was working properly and we were happy with the installation.
He thereafter assisted with the paperwork involved in applying for the rebates available from both state and federal authorities, and when one of these applications was somehow lost in the system (!) he chased it up for us.
In closing I can report with pleasure that the bill I received from Country Energy for the quarter following the installation of our solar hot water system was one half that for the same period last year – because we did not need to use the off-peak heating option except when we had a house full of extra people at Christmas.
In short, the installation of our Solar Hot Water system, in addition to reducing our carbon footprint is also effecting a significant saving in our power bills: and we couldn’t ask for more than that … save that I decided to go one stage further and also have solar panels installed to generate electricity so that we now draw less power from the grid than we supply to it!
Obviously ours is a family for whom James’ installation of a goodsolar hot water system was an important step in the right direction!’

...Since it came into service I have not had to rely on mains power at all, even during dull or rainy weather periods.
It has been almost a year now since local Uki contractor James McLaughlan installed a solar hot water system at my property in Uki. Based on 'evacuated tube' technology, I have found the system to be thoroughly reliable and efficient. Since it came into service I have not had to rely on mains power at all, even during dull or rainy weather periods. The available storage provides plenty of hot water, even when I have family/friends visiting for extended periods. I would estimate that I am saving 25/30% off my electricity consumption as a result of this system. I would have no hesitation in recommending James for his quality of service, efficiency and competitiveness. His advice when I was considering installation of a solar HWS was invaluable
